NBC’s Saturday Night Live has been at the top of its game in season 42. During the fall, the cast performed hilarious sketches that covered the 2016 presidential election.
And now that the long-running sketch series is back for 2017, SNL is at it again, this time mocking Donald Trump’s one (and probably only) press conference as President-Elect.
Alec Baldwin stepped back into Trump’s shoes, took to the podium and away he went!
Aside from a certain golden topic, the opening sketch of Saturday’s episode also brought up talk/game show host Steve Harvey’s meeting with Trump, as well as Vladimir Putin (shirtless, of course).
If you haven’t seen the sketch, then make sure to watch it below:
Despite hosting the show last year, Trump doesn’t seem to like how he’s been portrayed. He took to Twitter yet again to express his displeasure:
.@NBCNews is bad but Saturday Night Live is the worst of NBC. Not funny, cast is terrible, always a complete hit job. Really bad television!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) January 15, 2017
What Trump (who doesn’t seem to have a sense of humor) doesn’t realize is that shows like SNL are not about “hit jobs.” It’s a comedy show, plain and simple.
Hillary Clinton, on the other hand, loved Amy Poehler and Kate McKinnon playing her on the show.
The next episode of Saturday Night Live airs January 21 at 11:35pm on NBC, the day after Trump’s Inauguration, so you can be sure SNL will be must-watch TV yet again.
