2016: Bernie Sanders (I) wins the Alaska, Hawaii and Washington Caucuses.

March 28:
1969: President Dwight D. Eisenhower dies of congestive heart failure.

March 29:
1790: President John Tyler is born.
1916: Congressman Eugene McCarthy is born.
1961: The 23rd Amendment is ratified.

March 30:
1867: The United States purchases Alaska from Russia.
1870: The 15th Amendment is certified.
1981: President Ronald Reagan is shot by John W. Hinckley, Jr.

March 31:
1948: Vice President Al Gore is born.
